One of ten linen and cotton "pages" with an excerpt about the weather from Anna Howell's diaries hand-embroidered in her handwriting, along with three tiny pieced illustrations referencing the content of the text. The pieced blocks are about one-and-a-half inches square.
Text reads:
4th I went to the City to pay my accustomed visit to my children Had a very pleasant visit & came home in 7th a violent Snowstorm —10 The face of the Earth covered with Snow, but the weather, quite mild The girls went to Woodbury in the sleigh It has become so rare an occurence to have sleighing —that one has to mention it—
